The Reproductive Immunology Clinic was founded by Prof. Ulčová-Gallová in 1985. Together with laboratories for reproductive immunology , she works full-time at Genetics Pilsen since November 2012. Gynecology and obstetrics with immunology fully respects the complex neuroendocrine-immune relationships in couples with reduced fertility and provides greater opportunities for a comprehensive view of the diagnosis and, above all, the adjustment and method of existing treatment.

We monitor

  • Couples who did not conceive after 1–2 or more IVF cycles
  • Patients after two or more miscarriages
  • Couples with autoimmune diseases or underlying diagnoses (e.g., diabetes mellitus, etc.)
  • Couples undergoing cryopreservation of sperm or eggs due to a serious cancer diagnosis and prior to medical procedures (surgery, chemotherapy)
  • Couples aged 30 and above who have not conceived after a year of regular unprotected sexual intercourse

Conditions for examination

The partner also undergoes examination in reproductive immunology. We examine serum (blood collection with the condition of excluding excessive fat intake for 24 hours), ovulatory mucus (timed, painless collection of cervical secretion with the condition: intercourse with a condom from the end of menstruation until the collection of biological material), and ejaculate (after four days of sexual abstinence). We do not recommend smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, or drug use before the examination, and we require at least a two-month interval from the last miscarriage or hormonal stimulation. We also examine follicular and peritoneal fluid. It is advisable to have a recommendation from a gynecologist or another specialist with a brief summary of events.

We examine

  • primarily isoimmune and autoimmune relationships of reproductive cells (eggs, sperm) and early embryos, focusing on the enzymatic equipment of sperm heads
  • sperm agglutination antibodies, antibodies against zona pellucida (egg)
  • antibodies against ovarian tissue (ovary)
  • a panel of various antiphospholipid antibodies
  • other examinations of autoimmune parameters are indicated according to the actual results
  • antibodies in the ovarian cervix secretion
  • cellular immunity (NK cells) in the uterine mucosa
  • oxidative stress of sperm

Methods

  • Agglutination
  • ELISA
  • Immunofluorescence
  • Immunohistology

Examination of the couple

Timing of examinations (according to the menstrual cycle) of the couple and samples taken during one consultation according to the above conditions. The second consultation involves a detailed analysis of the results and a decision on the method of further therapy.
